Fireworks just started here in Berlin, tonight’s gonna be a long night .. and the last party in 2009. the last party is also our last podcast this year, an 80 something minutes mix recorded a few hours ago. Many great vinyls were released in 2009 on labels like Delsin, Ostgut, & Rush Hour to name a few. Some of my favorite pieces are on the track list. Long time no post .. ’cause I’ve been busy here and there .. & ’cause Jelka do it right;) Also, lately I’ve done some more work in our studio (mixer, cables, compressor, tape recorder, .. and sorting out records again) to improve again the quality of our broadcasts, podcasts & recordings. I’ll soon write a review about the amazing ARS 4100 mixer we just installed.

That being said, I also turned 30 last friday & recorded a new podcast for that particular time. Thanks to everyone that dropped me a note on Facebook on that day, or sms, or calls & to those who made it to Berlin to celebrate. 30 is also available in iTunes podcasts (search VKMP3) & on soundcloud. June 21 is the day on which T-shirt fans worldwide will celebrate International T-Shirt Day for the second year in a row. There is already a virtual party room available online at www.t-shirtday.com, where t-shirt enthusiasts can get information about this year’s festivities surrounding the event.

laFraise and Spreadshirt will officially start off the short-sleeve season with an “Open Runway” in both Boston and Berlin, Germany. On this open-air fashion runway, T-shirt designers and T-shirt fans will have the opportunity to show their personal designs and looks centered around the world’s most universal clothing item.

VKMP3 supports the event in Berlin, tatjana (aka lee-pling) & myself will do an easy deephouse set during the event; and of course we’ll have our shirts on the catwalk. Read more

I remember the first time I plugged in this mixer, ouch!

A moment ago a very close friend, probably my best friend, who’s now running a cool dj shop in Paris among other activities told me he got an old but amazing second hand mixer for sale. Urei 1620 he said. I immediately googled it and the first video I found is the one below. This made me laugh a lot at first but also somehow catched my attention so I decided to check this funky stuff the next day, very curious but also very sceptical, especially when I saw how basic the unit looks like. So we plugged it very quickly in the studio and played a few 12′, and wow! In love at first kick! Read more

I’m very happy to present Mixture Hivernale, a podcast in 3 sections released by Pierre, a real vinyl lover. All deep music addict will enjoy it.

Pierre has been djing for many many years and besides other activities he’s now in charge of the djs line-up on basic, one of Europe first webradio. I highly recommend to listen to his weekly sets, usually on wednesdays around 6pm. And for those who wanna get more, have a look into basic archives sections, there are hundreds of hours of quality music. Amazing!
