Profile

Dj-One has had a fast but long road trip to get to this destination sound. Chicago was the first place to tempt his hear, where his first love was for house. To travel to Eastern Europe was to discover his new mood for electro was the next chapter in his evolving sound. His skills and appetite to experiment with a new electric noise proved to charm the crowds instantly. Raves opened up Eastern Europe to make this side of the globe his second home. Eastern electro inspired by a transatlantic past created the spinning style that he continues today. Dj-One's ultimately stylish and deep moody sound rocks the floor and still breaks the house worldwide. His sets are always filled with energy and emotion that can not be contested. Dj-One tears down the walls that isolate musik genres as well as advancing his ever evolving signature sound. One sound.

0Posted by DJ-ONE | February 22, 2010

Loing time no podcast .. I have to admit I’ve been a bit lazy lately, or maybe it’s because berlin under the snow and ice made be hibernating. Maybe. I’ve playing regularly on basic.ch though, every sunday for VKMP3 weekly radio show.

OH NO IT’S MONDAY was originally recorded for basic.ch and is now available as a podcast here.

A deep to deep techno mix in my classic style. I enjoyed a lot making it, hope you’ll appreciate it. Read more

WIRE #312 feat. Mark Ernestus interview

As half of Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound and Maurizio, Mark Ernestus is the genetic engineer behind the Techno sound that has become the European hertbeat. But his tweaking of electronic dance’s DNA began earlier, when he opened Berlin’s landmark vinyl store Hard Wax in the year the Wall fell. Read more

The Last Party

0Posted by DJ-ONE | December 31, 2009

Fireworks just started here in Berlin, tonight’s gonna be a long night .. and the last party in 2009. the last party is also our last podcast this year, an 80 something minutes mix recorded a few hours ago. Many great vinyls were released in 2009 on labels like Delsin, Ostgut, & Rush Hour to name a few. Some of my favorite pieces are on the track list. The Last Party is also a great design from Cuypi, who remixed it for Vinyl Kills MP3. A great T-Shirt for the dancefloor available in our shop. Read more

30

Long time no post .. ’cause I’ve been busy here and there .. & ’cause Jelka do it right;) Also, lately I’ve done some more work in our studio (mixer, cables, compressor, tape recorder, .. and sorting out records again) to improve again the quality of our broadcasts, podcasts & recordings. I’ll soon write a review about the amazing ARS 4100 mixer we just installed.

That being said, I also turned 30 last friday & recorded a new podcast for that particular time. Thanks to everyone that dropped me a note on Facebook on that day, or sms, or calls & to those who made it to Berlin to celebrate. 30 is also available in iTunes podcasts (search VKMP3) & on soundcloud. Around The Clock .. it’s record time!

0Posted by DJ-ONE | August 26, 2009

24 renowned Typographers, Designers and Artists came together as a tribute to the vinyl record, refering to their interpretation to the clockwerk and the sign o’ times.
Artists in the line up included, ALIFE, Michael Leon, Jonathan Zawada, Alex Trochut, Jeremyville, Andy Howell, COLLIDER, Marok and Jonhatan Zawad to name a few. With the increasing consumption of digital music, disused vinyl records sometimes gather dust the worl over, many of which lie in scratched piles at book exchanges, permanently abandoned a long time. Relics? Old records were emblazoned with beautiful typography or logos unique to a moment in time and genre specific. The inspiration behind this project concept was to focus on the record as a medium to create a renewed functionality. Turning the records into laser etched time pieces added purpose to objects which had otherwise become obsolete.

We’ve missed the exhibition, but the flickr set is amazing. Read more
