Quarion podcast for VKMP3
1Posted by jelka | November 23, 2009YANNECK SALVO aka IANEQ aka QUARION may be known under different names, may work in various genres and by different professions (like producing dope HipHop beats as well as tech house grooves, spinning DnB in the 90s, remixing house and techno cuts, co-founding the vinyl only label Retreat) – but there is one constant factor you will find in all his work: a fascinating disposition to find strong determination and hopeful inspiration in music!
Born in Switzerland but now based in Berlin, Yanneck has worked with a wide range of well known musicians: he toured with Chicago ambassadors Theo Parrish and Omar S, worked with Japan’s Force Of Nature producer DJ Kent, or with jazz keyboardist Leo Tardin.
Always influenced by his strong jazz and Hip Hop background, his superb, housey broken beat “Reset” EP done as IANEQ was repped by big names in the Deep House, House and Nu Jazz scene like Rainer Trüby, Michael Rütten and Lars Behrenroth. Add his admiration for dub grooves and Detroit techno deepness (or vice-versa) and you will get to the widescreen, uplifting House with instrumental flourishes he creates today.
He did remixes for Dirt Crew, Agnes, Alex Attias, Jagged and others, whereas his take on Jamie Lloyd’s “May I?” and Andres Garcia’s “No More Tears” are paraded by world-class DJs. Nowadays you will find his productions and remix work on the best-selling Kompakt, DJ-Kicks and Compost Blacklabel CD series.
Luckily Yanneck found some time to mix an exclusive podcast for VKMP3 – enjoy!
